The Denver Police Department (DPD) will host the 2009 Major Cities Chiefs (MCC) and International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) annual conferences October 1-7. These conferences are expected to attract 17,000 law enforcement officials and vendors.
The MCC is a professional organization of the chief law enforcement executives representing the 64 largest cities in the US and the 7 largest cities in Canada. The MCC conference (October 1 & 2) is held two days prior to the beginning of the IACP conference (October 3-7). The IACP is the largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives, with over 20,000 members in over 89 countries. Leadership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies of all sizes.
The DPD’s role as host city agency is to provide logistical support to both groups and to host a 5K run, golf tournament, transportation, Host Chief’s receptions, hospitality services, and companion activities. These activities require securing sponsorships, as they are not covered in the department’s operating budget.
The Denver Police Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, is proud to partner with the DPD to raise financial support for these activities. Recognizing your commitment to public safety, we invite you to become a sponsor of these host city activities. In addition to activity specific acknowledgements, your sponsorship will include the following general acknowledgements:
- Logo recognition in all promotional, media and collateral materials related to the activity
- Logo recognition on the IACP Denver web page and in event signage
On behalf of the Denver Host Committee, thank you for considering participating in these important events. Checks can be made payable to the Denver Police Foundation (whose mission is to fund urgently needed equipment, training and technology in support of Denver’s police officers) and mailed to the address below.
