Denver Police Foundation:  2008 Public Safety Program Funding Priorities
(Adopted November 14, 2007)

The DPF Public Safety Program (“A Board”) is an independent and unique resource for the Denver Police Department, providing resources to:

  • foster innovation
  • keep pace with rapidly changing technology
  • meet time-sensitive needs
  • promote excellence and wellness
  • recognize valor
  • encourage collaboration and synergy
  • measure effectiveness
  • strengthen community involvement

Officer safety is the Foundation's top priority, followed by supporting programs that seek to prevent, deter, reduce and eliminate crime wherever possible, while decreasing victimization. Public Safety Program grants support needs for which government funds are not readily available.  The DPF does not support expenditures for city personnel.  Each year the Foundation’s A Board of Directors consults with the DPD leadership to determine priorities for funding.
